January Update - Nets Booked and Key Dates for 2023 Season

The committee met last week and the minutes in full are uploaded on the Website HERE, there are a few key dates for the diaries sorted for the 2023 season to make you all aware of. These are all on the Club Calendar embedded in the club website which you can actually subscribe to on your usual apps or just save the relevant events that you want to.

All known fixtures for the league season are on this calendar and play-cricket already, the 3rd XI’s fixtures for the second half of the season will be determined by league position at the mid-point. It will be another two division year in the CDCA. Our Club Captain has sorted out Senior nets and we are going back to Farmor's School at Fairford for these. Details will be in Spond soon. Junior nets (Under 11s & 13s) are booked. For safety reasons we are keeping these nets to hard ball only rather than attempting to mix again. Under 7s/9s training will start on April 21st.

The following Spond adjustments are being made. Spond will be primarily an avaialbility/attendance tool this season with club info on the website. 

1. The ladies team squad now have their own group which will have fixtures/training in it. ALL ladies members are welcome in the Senior Spond group too to show availability for League games and Sunday Friendlies as well but this is an opt-in thing this season, to minimise alerts! 
2. A New Club Group is being set up for all members/parents which will have the details of cross club events/social get togethers. Again this focusses alerts from the Spond app to what matters to you all but enables us to send out invitations & responses to get an idea for numbers attending so we can order Stock etc. 

With the above done, the following dates will be added to Spond and invites sent out in due course. 

• 1st March - Womens indoor nets start
• 5th March - Senior, u15 & u19 Indoor nets start
• 14th March - u11 & u13 indoor nets start
• 5th April - First Ladies Outdoor Training Session (subject to weather) 
• 6th April - First Senior, u19s & u15s Outdoor Training (subject to weather)
• 15th April - Get Club Ready for the season Day, Lunchtime BBQ & senior section intra-club Friendly in afternoon. This is event for the whole club. 
• 21st April-  First u7s, u9s, u11s & u13s training evening at the club along with induction evening for Parents and club social evening. 
• 26th May - Club Golf Fundraising day at Cirencester Golf Club, details to follow soon
• 10th June - Club Social at Englands
• 21st July - Current last scheduled night of formal training for u7s-u13s with this potentially extended by any late summer squad tournaments/games. This will also be a “school’s out” end of season evening for the youth cricketers.
• 5th August - Club Social at Englands.
• 10th September - Final Senior Game of the Season. 
• 16th September - End of Season close down at Club, Parents v Children Cricket match, Awards evening & end of season event at Club. 
• End Sept TBC  - Club AGM
