Welcome back to all our returning youth and an equally warm welcome to our new joiners!
Our youth section is now over 160 members from Under 5/6 through to Under 16s. We currently have a few spaces in the youth squads so if you have any friends looking to join it is always worth putting them in touch.
Exciting changes for the 2026 season include the entry of both an under 11 girls team and two under 9s ones in Gloucestershire leagues. There will also be some cricket for the Under 7s most likely in the form of festivals one of which we will hold at Poulton.
With the recent good weather after what seemed like endless rain, we have been out on the ground this week turning it from a football club to a cricket one and things are beginning to take shape!
We have listened to those who took the time to answer our youth surveys at the end of last season which are summarised here
We always need more parents to qualify as coaches especially but also get involved in the running of the squads. We try to ensure we handle as much of the administrative burden and dealing with the England and Wales cricket board as possible. It can still be daunting trying to get involved but it helps the volunteer coaches massively. If you can, please let us know.
Parent Check List
1. Confirm your child’s place if you have not already done so on Spond or email.
2. Join the correct WhatsApp group & Leave any old one
3. Pay Membership (unless trialling the club for two sessions)
4. Sort your website access to get onto the squad webpages
5. Let us know if you know any food trucks who might want to come to Poulton
6. Re-activate your Spond app if understandably muted for the Winter!

Membership
Membership is due before the season starts for returning members. We need your latest info to do this so there is a form to fill out for all members again and you can find the form and the information you need here. For those who have already requested membership, many thanks and you'll be getting your invoices soon.
New Net Booking System
We have adapted Microsoft Booking to offer a way of booking the two permanent nets at Poulton CC you can find it here.
Squad Pages & Calendars
New website squad pages are in the process of being rolled out. You can find these via the menu at the top of this page. We are getting the last of the fixtures from the various leagues at the moment and will be adding these details.
Each page carries a WhatsApp QR code relevant to that squad and a calendar focussed on that squad with a link for you to subscribe to as well as a variety of other info which will be updated through the season.

Communication in 2026 (Website, WhatsApp & Spond)
We know parents are in endless school & club WhatsApp groups. Poulton CC needs a method to communicate urgent messages due to things like rain so please ensure you are in the correct squad WhatsApp group(s) for your child and leave any no longer applicable. If you need help with this, please get in touch with Will. All groups should be visibile in the club WhatsApp community. Non Urgent information will be published on this website and on Spond. Please mark your child's attendance at each training session and availability for matches on Spond.

Under 16s - Thursday evenings 6.30pm with Senior squads
Under 15s - Friday Evening 6pm
Under 13s - Friday Evening 6pm
Under 11 Girls - Sunday morning 10am
Under 11s Mixed - Friday Evening 6pm
Under 9s Mixed - Friday Evening 5pm
Under 7s Mixed - Friday Evening 5pm
Under 5s/6s Mixed - Sunday Morning 10am - option for last year's under 5s, who are now Under 6s.
Fundraising Target for 2026
The club has a large fundraising target for 2026 comprising raising funds through the cricket week, the 100, sponsorship, donations, gift aid and fundraising. Details of this can be found here.
Friday Night Youth Training
Last year’s caterers Peach & Pudding will not be returning to Englands. If you know of any food trucks or similar who might be interested in coming to the club, please get in contact. Offering the bar and BBQ will always depend on volunteers running both. Getting involved in this makes the evening as well as helping the club hits its fundraising targets! We hope to have sorted an ice cream van.
